Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé led a high-level meeting on Friday with key government ministers and international partners to discuss the upcoming constitutional referendum and national elections. Among the participants were Minister for Women’s Affairs Pédrica Saint-Jean, Youth and Civic Action Minister Niola Lynn Sarah Devalis Octavius, Minister for Electoral Affairs Joseph André Gracien Jean, and representatives from UN Women and UNESCO.
The meeting emphasized the need for an inclusive, transparent, and secure electoral process, with strong participation from women, youth, and civil society. The Prime Minister highlighted the urgency of collective action to restore public trust and institutional legitimacy.
“The electoral and constitutional process must include every voice. Our democracy must reflect the full diversity of the Haitian people,” said Fils-Aimé.
“We must ensure security and rebuild confidence so that every citizen feels safe and empowered to participate.”
The session concluded with a commitment to continued collaboration and technical coordination among national and international actors as Haiti prepares for a critical democratic transition.
